Situation:
A prior year emissions report contained calculation errors, leading to a penalty and additional audits. ERP exports were incompatible with the KOBiZE XML schema and the EHS team was overloaded.
Actions taken:
- Data integration with the national waste registry was implemented via API; daily transfers automated waste reporting.
- Historical activity data were reconstructed using meter readings and ERP extraction scripts; a corrected report was filed and verified.
- A GHG inventory (Scopes 1–2–3) was prepared and third-party verified according to ISO 14064-3.
- A draft CSRD note aligned with ESRS E1 was prepared for management approval.
- Staff were trained and an SOP was delivered for repeatable annual reporting.
Outcome:
- Corrected and verified submissions restored regulatory confidence.
- Energy inefficiencies were identified and rectified, producing material operational savings.
- CSRD preparatory work was completed ahead of schedule, easing audit planning.
